Most northern lights tours follow a fixed route and hope for the best. We don't. Every night, our guides track live weather and aurora forecasts using satellite cloud data, combined with microclimate knowledge built from hundreds of nights in the field.
After pickup in central Tromsø, the chase begins. Our smaller 4x4 minibus reaches dark, remote locations larger buses simply can't access. We don't follow a fixed route. We follow the aurora. If needed, we'll cross the border into Finland or Sweden to find the lights.
That relentless approach is why we reach a 96% success rate of finding visible aurora, the highest in Tromsø. Stunning displays happen even on quiet nights when the aurora forecast reads low, and the Lyngen Alps block coastal moisture, giving us clearer skies inland. Our decisions are based on real conditions, not a single forecast.
During the chase, we stop at handpicked locations chosen for darkness and visibility. A campfire when conditions allow, and your guide captures professional photos throughout the night, shared with you afterwards.

Each tour is limited to 8 guests maximum. Small groups mean more comfort, personal attention from the guide, and a better chance to enjoy the aurora without crowds.
The tour usually returns around midnight to 1:00 AM, depending on weather and aurora conditions. Exact timing may vary, as we often stay out longer to maximize your chances of seeing the lights.
