Increase your chances of seeing the Northern Lights on a true minibus chase designed for guests who value flexibility, local expertise, and the best possible conditions each night.
Over recent seasons, our Northern Lights chases have achieved a 93% success rate of finding visible aurora activity (season 2024/25).
After pickup in central Tromsø, we leave the city lights behind and plan the route in real time using live weather data and aurora activity. Depending on conditions, we may travel along the coast, deep inland, or across the border into Finland or Sweden in search of clearer skies.
Tromsø lies directly beneath the aurora oval, meaning Northern Lights can appear even on nights with low Kp values. Our decisions are based on real conditions as they develop, not a single forecast.
If we believe there is no chance of seeing the Northern Lights, we will cancel the tour and provide a full refund or rebook you for the next available day that suits you.
When conditions allow, we stop at carefully selected locations chosen for darkness and visibility. Warm drinks and snacks are served, and a campfire will be set up. Our guides take photos throughout the tour, which are shared with you after the experience.
This experience is designed for guests seeking a genuine Northern Lights chase, which may involve longer drives and late returns. Our focus is always on finding the best possible conditions for an unforgettable Arctic night.
Please note: This tour includes drinks, snacks, and photos taken by our guides at no extra charge.
We focus on delivering a smooth, well-organized experience from the first contact to the end of your tour. Quality, care, and local expertise guide everything we do.
Clear communication, fast responses, and honest guidance come as standard. From booking to pickup, we make sure guests feel informed, supported, and well taken care of.
We keep our groups small to ensure comfort, flexibility, and a more personal connection. This allows us to adapt easily, avoid crowds, and focus on the details that matter.
With deep local knowledge, our guides know where to go beyond the usual stops. We seek out quiet viewpoints, lesser-known routes, and hidden gems that reveal the Arctic at its best.
Yes — enjoy free cancellation or rescheduling up to 24 hours before departure. Book with peace of mind.
Temperatures can drop well below freezing. Dress in warm layers, wear a winter jacket, sturdy boots, gloves, and a hat. We provide hot drinks to keep you comfortable.
The meeting point is Kaigata 4, 9008 Tromsø, Norway. Please arrive 10 minutes before departure. A map and directions are included on this page.
Each tour is limited to 8 guests maximum. Small groups mean more comfort, personal attention from the guide, and a better chance to enjoy the aurora without crowds.
The tour usually returns around midnight to 1:00 AM, depending on weather and aurora conditions. Exact timing may vary, as we often stay out longer to maximize your chances of seeing the lights.
